Multiplayer fighting couch game
Context – Development began in November 2018, as an indie game. The first version came out in February 2019, and the last in July 2019.
Goal – Making a fun, clean, solid gameplay-wise and with a good game feel game in a team of 4.
Roles – Game designer, level designer, developer, compositor, sound designer (selecting, editing, integrating menu sounds).
SpaceHook is a 2D fighting couch-game on PC for 2 to 4 players.
Play as a little robot Jouez un petit robot equipped with a grappling hook : grab platforms and turn around them to propel yourself on your opponents.
Once close, use your dash to activate the robot’s blade and destroy the robots of the other players !
The game comes with 4 different arena packs in order to offer varied spatial battles. Fight in a factory, underwater, in a jungle or on the surface of a deserted planet !
LEVEL DESIGN :
FACTORY_06 – THE STADIUM
Look for the trampolines on the ends of level to propel yourself on your opponents, but beware of the central platforms that move !
SUBMARINE_02 – THE EYE
In this level made of large corridors, a bomb is triggered if it’s touched. Once activated, the bomb moves all throughout the level and can be sent off on contact… beware of its timer, or you may explode with it !
FOREST_04 – CREEPERS
Creepers (no, not from Minecraft) come in and out from the ceiling and allow you to hang onto them… make good use of the jungle’s density on the level’s top and bottom corners to protect yourself or destroy it to expose your opponents to a deadly laser !
DESERT_06 – THE CANYON
In this arena, meteor storms regularily threaten the canyon, between the platforms. Push your opponents in them and use the destructible passages to flee at the last moment !
SUBMARINE_05 – THE DEADLY ROOM
A circular arena with bland looks… but provided with a rotating laser hunting down players ! Escape the laser while pushing your opponents on it !
